📚The new Deliverable 2.1. of the DICES Project has arrived!“Mapping the Social Economy in Nine European Countries” summarises how the social economy is understood, organised and supported in nine European countries: #Austria, #Belgium, #Bulgaria, the #Czech #Republic, #Germany, #Greece, #Ireland, #Lithuania and #Norway. It looks at the key characteristics of the social economy, its contribution to addressing social exclusion and the principal policy demands identified.Indicative results of this deliverable include that: 🔸 Some of the countries have dedicated social economy #laws and #strategies, while others lack even a shared definition. That makes the sector harder to see, compare and support. 🔹 In Belgium, women make up over 71% of the social economy #workforce. In Norway, 63% of adults volunteer and more than 1 in 3 people belong to a cooperative. Meanwhile, in Greece, the Social and Solidarity Economy employed only around 1,500 annual work units in 2021. 🔸 Social purpose doesn't automatically mean #democracy. #Workers and #service users often have little real say, even where voting or #consultation rights exist on paper. 🔹 The common demand is #stability. #Stakeholders call for multiannual funding instead of short-term projects, procurement that values #social #impact over price, and decent pay and conditions in care. 👉 A more detailed summary of the deliverable is available at the Publications section of the project’s website: dices-project.eu/publications/ #SocialEconomy #DICES #EconomicDemocracy #Inclusion #Care

📚 A brand new book has arrived! 🔹 "𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥-𝐭𝐨-𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬" (created in the context of OVER SEES Project) is a a book that examines the opportunities and constraints of young people as they transition from education to labour market. It also examines how scientific understandings of school-to-work transitions have evolved and identifies the multiple conditions which affect and influence them. In this book our lab contributed with the chapter "𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒔𝒚𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏", written by Athina Avagianou, Kostas Gourzis and Vasiliki Krommyda👉 You can preview the book, find more details or purchase it through the link below.
