Short description

ReWork Aegean aims at the empowerment of young people either of Greek citizenship or migrants and refugees who are not in employment, education, or training, by providing them with knowledge and innovative solutions in the frame of social economy and the reuse of vacant buildings. Specifically, the Project runs a pilot program in the region of North Aegean, Greece, based on an online integrated platform which comprises two parts. The main part constitutes an Interactive Hub which brings social enterprises and owners of vacant buildings in contact with young jobseekers and aspiring entrepreneurs. Specifically, in the Hub one can register their social enterprise or owned (vacant) building, and in turn, users can enter and look for work in social economy or find space to host their entrepreneurial venture. For increased visibility and networking, the Project collaborates with numerous key local and international stakeholders around training, social inclusion, and housing, such as the “European Federation of Public, Cooperative, and Social Housing”, and the “Second Chance School of Mytilene”. The platform’s second part disseminates relevant knowledge through an Online Observatory with statistics on youth employment and inactivity, and an extensive library with podcasts, videos, and texts from third parties.
