The paper entitled “𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎-𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒇𝒊𝒙𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒄𝒆” examines the connection between spatial fixes and flexible work, considering touristification as a key form of capital's spatial fixes.Some of its key findings:🔹 The Greek economy continues to rely heavily on generating value from the built environment, although post-2009 recovery indicates a shift from housing construction to tourism-related infrastructure and development.🔸Devaluation and spatial fixes are being used as crisis-management strategies,🔹Labour markets intensify devaluation (expansion of part-time and temporary employment), as a result of adaptation to tourism and construction sectors,🔸Regional differences reflect different expressions of the same economic model rather than distinct development paths, and🔹Tourism-led growth brings temporary profitability, by increasing labour precarity and uneven geographical development. 👉The article can be accessed by clicking at the link below:
