Stelios Gialis is Professor and Academic Coordinator of the Labour Geography Research Lab (lgrl.aegean.gr) at the Department of Geography of the University of the Aegean, Greece. His research interests lie at the intersection of Labour Geography and Geographical Political Economy. He does research on the spatialities of precarious and flexible work in urban and regional labour markets. He is Principal Investigator and coordinator of numerous EU-funded and other projects. He did postdoctoral research in the field of Labour Geography at the University of Georgia, USA and had been a DAAD visiting scholar at the Von Humboldt University, Berlin. He received the 2022 Jim Lewis Prize from the journal European Urban and Regional Studies for a paper he co-authored with Andrew Herod and Kostas Gourzis.
