Brief Biography

Akis Kanelleas is a Rural & Surveying Engineer graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1997 and received his master’s degree (MA) in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Leeds UK in 1998. A well-rounded and highly trained GIS Specialist with more than 20 years of experience acquired at Junior and Senior-level GIS positions held in engineering design, transportation construction management and Asset Management/Real Estate Companies; a motivated decision maker, possessing a strong combination of analytical and leadership skills, along with a well proven record of achievements within challenging environments. He has participated in many projects and has a strong interest in research, especially in Geography, Data Analysis and the development of GIS application environments. In the “[e-Aegean] ResLab-Observatory”, he acts as an external expert on web mapping and the process of building a Spatial Database.
